Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a pearl shaped island located south of India in the warm shores of the Indian Ocean.

Besides its tropical sandy beaches fringed with exotic palm tress, the interior is of abundance of rivers, steams, and cascading waterfalls surrounded by cool misty mountains and forests. It is here amongst wealth of splendid colour of flora, many hundreds and in some cases extremely rare species of colourful bird life.

Sri Lanka’s bird life makes it an ornithologist’s paradise. This great island of great immense culture and history contains of 430 of recorded species of which over half are resident and twenty-three are endemic to the island.

Most of these birds are restricted in the wet zone of the Island in the area called Yala National Park.

And others also confined to the small humid forest and also some found throughout the Island. more
